Vacation in Oregon

On July 16th Cindy and I flew to Portland OR to meet family and friends for a weeks vacation.  1st night BBQ at Ross Purnell's house got the party started.  In attendance Jim & Marilynn Miller (my sister and brother in law) Blake & Denise Purnell (my niece) and their two kids,  Jon & Zoe Purnell (parents of Ross & Blake).  The next day we caravanned out of Portland thru record rain heading for the coast stopping first at Cannon Beach for lunch then down to Newport where we rented a house for the week.   Cindy and I stopped at Tillamook to see how cheese is made (who knew you needed cows?) and pulled into Newport at cocktail time.

The next day I got up at 5AM and drove to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort 3 hours south and known as Mecca for US golf.  I knocked off 2 courses on Monday and 1 on Tuesday which leaves one more for me to go back for.   I got back to Newport in time for cocktails.  By the time we left on Friday cocktail time was starting around 2 PM.  High temp was about 65 with some rain and a good deal of sun so the weather did not prevent any activities.

Biosphere 2

Cindy in front of a picture of Biosphere 2.  Lung room is to her left.   Biosphere is completely air tight when doors are closed so the Lung Room balances the air pressure so the glass windows do not pop out when the temperature goes up inside.

Snow Day

For once the weather man was right.  Woke to a light dusting at the house.  I was scheduled for a 9:30 tee time but the course is closed until after noon.  Check out the Coyotes crossing the wash in the last picture.  My timing was late for one and early for the other.
